Martyred Second Lt Abdul Moeed laid to rest in Lahore

The funeral prayer of Abdul Moeed was offered at Ayub Stadium.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Martyred Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed has been laid to rest with guard of honor at Cavalry Ground Graveyard in Lahore today (Wednesday).

Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed along with Sepoy Basharat embraced martyrdom in militants attack on an army vehicle from surrounding mountains in North Wazirstan Agency on Tuesday.

The funeral prayer of Abdul Moeed was offered at Ayub Stadium which was attended by Core Commander Lieutenant General Aamir Riaz and other higher officials of Pakistan Army.



A floral wreath from Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif was also laid on the grave of martyred officer and said, "Freedom isn’t free, it costs sons of the soil. Freedom that we enjoy today is owed to so many such brave hearts. Salute to our Martyrs."



Talking to media, Abdul Moeed’s father said that every soldier of Pakistan army is ready to sacrifice his life for the safety of the people.



It is to be mentioned here 21 years old Lt Abdul Moeed, who recently passed out from Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), was a resident of Burewala, Vehari whereas Sepoy Basharat, 21 years old with three years military service, belonged to village Danyor in Gilgit.

Earlier, funeral prayer of Abdul Moeed was also offered in his ancestral village Machiwal near Vehari. Renowned religious scholar Pir Murad Ali Shah led the prayers.
