Government should seek army's help to end Faizabad sit-in: Khursheed Shah

Shah claimed that Nawaz Sharif is responsible for current circumstances.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah has on Tuesday said that federal government should seek Pakistan Army’s help to end the Faizabad sit-in.

Khursheed Shah expressed his views while talking to media and said that it is a constitutional right of the government to summon the army whenever it is required.

He claimed that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif is responsible for current circumstances and suggested to hold negotiations with the religious parties to solve the matter.

Khursheed Shah said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will table a bill in the National Assembly (NA) today seeking to undo the clause in Elections Act 2017 that allows disqualified Nawaz Sharif to remain the president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Shah affirmed to use other options if the government tries to practise delaying tactics. He remarked that how can a man head a political party who is not even eligible to become a member of the parliament.

The opposition leader also talked about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and said the nation will understand how important is the parliament for PTI chief if he fails to come even today.
