Summary FO spokesperson says the funds will cover the expenses for war on terror
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – United States Congress has approved USD 700 million for Pakistan. Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson said that the funds will be utilised in the war on terror, reported Dunya News.
During the weekly briefing, FO spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal told that Pakistan demanded strong action from Britain against those using its soil for anti-Pakistan propaganda. He also appreciated Britain’s immediate action against anti-Pakistan advertisement on the taxis in London. He said that Pakistan believed similar action will be taken by the British authorities on similar advertisement on buses and billboards.
The spokesperson said that India was fueling the arms race in the region for its obsession with war. He declared the continuous violations of the Line of Control (LOC) from the Indian side as a serious threat to peace. He added that Pakistan had been suffering from the conflict in Afghanistan.
Dr Faisal said that being a responsible member of the global community, Pakistan believed in a peaceful neighbourhood but he reminded that Pakistan army was completely capable of responding to any aggression.
Talking about terrorism in Pakistan, he said that the terrorists enjoyed safe havens on Afghan soil and as the result of the conflict in Afghanistan, Pakistan was the one suffering.
