Summary ECP had issued the contempt notice to Imran Khan in January 2017 over his remarks about commission.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has decided to appear before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today (Thursday) in Contempt of court case.
The ECP had issued the contempt notice to Imran Khan in January 2017 over his remarks about the commission in a petition filed by Akbar S Babar.
The ECP had issued non-bailable arrest warrants of Imran in relation to a contempt of court case against him earlier.
However, the PTI approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) which, on September 20, suspended the non-bailable arrest warrants. Hearing the case, Justice Aamer Farooq, who headed a three-member larger bench, directed the PTI chief to reply to the ECP s show-cause notice.
