KARACHI (Dunya News) – Murderer imprisoned in central jail of Sindh metropolis has alleged the jail administration and police on Wednesday (September 27) of forcing prisoners to sell drugs and kidnap locals for ransom.
A video statement of Taj Muhammad alias Kabu that was recorded in Kherpur jail came to light today. Reportedly, the development surfaced after Counter-Terrorism Department and the Karachi jail administration entered a confrontation after the former was denied permission to inspect the facility.
Deputy Inspector General Pervez Chandio claimed in a talk with Dunya News that the video was recorded after CTD Senior Superintendent of Police ‘met’ with the murderer in jail after he was transferred to Kherpur jail.
He denied the allegations and said that no prisoners are made to either sell drugs or commit kidnappings for ransom.
However, the Karachi jail administration has asserted that there is no clash between the two security departments as both work for the same cause; to rid the city of crime.
Provincial law minister Ziaul Hassan has said that new prisons are to be built near Karachi West and Thatta to imprison dangerous criminals. He further has claimed that jail police would be trained in supervision of the military for improved security.

It should be mentioned here that some officials of police have claimed that the video is at least a year old.
