Summary While addressing a rally in Noshehra, we will not back down, workers shouldn’t lose heart

NOSHEHRA (Dunya News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardar while addressing a rally in Noshehra said that conspiracies against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have continued since former president Zia-ul Haq’s era.

He said that other political parties don’t have the strength to form a government at the centre. “If PPP workers won’t unite, Zardari can’t do everything alone,” he said. He said that he can understand that the PPP workers are angry with their leaders. “It is about time that we hold ourselves accountable too,” Zardari conceded. He said that PPP made a government in the centre even after claiming 90 seats and did historical development work for the people.

“Sometimes, political parties become powerful, sometimes they become weak, that is the part and parcel of politics,” he said. “Infighting is the biggest problem faced by our party, we will solve these problems together,” Zardari claimed. Zardari further said he knows the problems faced by Pashtuns more than anyone else. “You should trust me, PPP is a party of all four provinces,” he said. He claimed that several attempts have been made to weaken PPP since Zia-ul-Haq’s era.

Former president further said that PPP won’t back down, our workers shouldn’t lose heart. He said that provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) didn’t use their budget in the first three years. Pointing to Imran khan, Zardari said that he is a cricketer he doesn’t know anything. “KP governement is a poor government, next time chief minister of KP will be from PPP,” he said. He said that if his party is not able to form government, PPP will sit in the opposition and fight for the rights of people.

Earlier, while talking to the media in Peshawar, PPP co-chairman said that the the NA-120 by-election result is a story of conflicting interests. Presenting his stance on PPP’s humiliating defeat in the election, Asif Zardari said: "The chief minister and prime minister are from the PML-N. Just have a look at registrations of new motorcyles and development work in the constituency in last three months."
