QUETTA (Dunya News) – Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa participated in funeral prayers of the Pishin Stop terror attack victims on Sunday and urged the nation to pay tribute to the sacrifices rendered in war on terror during Independence Day celebrations on August 14.

Media cell of the army, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that General Bajwa visited Quetta after eight soldiers and 15 persons were killed in a terror attack on an army truck on Saturday night.

General Bajwa was briefed on security situation in the province after the latest terror attack. The funeral prayers were also offered by interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and Balochistan governor and chief minister among others.

Balochistan chief minister was accompanying ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, Punjab chief minister, Hamza Shehbaz and Khawaja Saad Rafique and other PML-N leaders at conclusive rally of ‘GT Road homecoming’ at the time when the blast was reported.

However, he flew back to Balochistan capital following the rally and had briefed the media that hospitals in the capital were operating in the state of emergency to counter the aftermath.
