Summary Invitation of Chamber of Commerce for Chinese citizens will now be compulsory for business visas

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to submit details of all Chinese citizens in Pakistan to security agencies.

He chaired a meeting in the capital with the officials of NADRA, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and Interior Secretary. The several steps came under discussion, during the meeting, to make the security of Chinese residents in Pakistan foolproof.

It was decided today that Chinese citizens will require an invitation from the Chamber of Commerce to attain business visas. An electronic system will be established to process their visas which will work with the cooperation of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Only the Passport DG will be allowed to extend their visas. Pakistan embassies will only allow them one-year multiple entry work visa. The relevant person will have to acquire security clearance from Chinese officials for work visas. The relevant companies would be required to request for extension of work visas of their employees.

Nisar has directed NADRA to submit the data of Chinese citizens in Pakistan to security agencies as soon as possible.

Moreover, it has also been decided in the meeting to re-launch Pakistan origin cards for expat wives of the nationals.
