Govt allocates Rs49b for development of health sector
Eight billion rupees have been allocated for up-gradation of hospitals.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Government has allocated forty-nine billion rupees for the next fiscal year for the development of health sector in the country.
According to official sources, the phase-II of Prime Minister`s National Health Programme is being launched with a total cost of ten billion rupees.
Under another programme, eight billion rupees have been allocated for up-gradation of hospitals.
In view of the emerging challenge of drinking water scarcity, "Clean Drinking Water for all" program is being launched for which over twelve billion rupees have been proposed.
The government will also enhance investments in vertical health programs including family planning, primary health care and population welfare schemes.
