LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rain on Monday night lashed parts of Punjab including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot whereas scorching heat would continue to persist in plain areas of Sindh and Balchistan.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and may persist till Wednesday night.
Dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.

Yesterday, record temperature of 48°C was observed in Jiwani. Earlier record was 45.7°C on 25th May, 1992.
