CHAMAN (Dunya News) – Pakistan has reopened border with Afghanistan at Angoor Adda and Torkham on Tuesday after around 19 days.
The decision to reopen the border for two days, March 7 and 8 was taken by Islamabad on Monday to allow thousands of stranded nationals of both the sides to reach their destinations.
However, business affairs remain suspended despite the cross-border movement. People at the border have to cross borders during 08:00am to 06:00pm within two days.
Reportedly, Afghanistan has barred her nationals to enter Pakistan out of the escalated tensions after Pakistan sealed the border on February 16 following terror attacks in Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Sehwan Sharif and Dera Ismail Khan among other cities.
Hundreds of containers loaded with goods are lined up in Chaman. Thousands of Pakistani nationals in Chaman and surrounding areas commute between Afghanistan and back for businesses.

Islamabad has demanded off Afghanistan multiple times in the past to take action against banned outfits however, no positive outcome was reported.
Operatives of different terror organisations are trained in Afghanistan before making them enter Pakistan through porous borders between the two states.
In the most recent of such incidents, facilitator of a suicide bomber who targeted a protest on Mall Road in Lahore on February 14 claiming 14 lives revealed that he had entered the country from Afghanistan.
The same month, another suicide bomber targeted shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar claiming at least 88 lives and leaving over 200 wounded.
It should be mentioned here that former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai has stated on Twitter that the state would never recognise Durand Line and that Pakistan has no authority to dictate terms at the site.
