LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court has barred Punjab government from taking action against the Uber, Careem and other online cab service providers, reported Dunya News.

A citizen named Muneer filed a petition in Lahore High Court against the ban on Uber and Careeem and which was heard by LHC bench.

The petitioner pleaded in his petition that since there doesn’t exist any legislation over the issue that is why no action could be taken against the online cab service companies.

The high court ordered the government not to take any action against the companies over the matter.

The court also summoned a reply from the provincial government and other related parties in the mentioned case.

It is also worth mentioning that Punjab government had earlier deemed Uber, Careem and other online cab services as illegal through an official notification.
