KPK govt fails to improve schools' security after APS attack

Summary KPK govt says that it is not possible to appoint security guards in thirty five thousand schools.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government had announced to improve the security standards of government schools after Army Public School (APS) attack in 2014, however, no such measures have been taken thus far.

The government had granted the funds worth two billion rupees for this purpose but no one knows where these funds went as about four thousand schools, particularly girls’, are still deprived of basic necessities including the boundary walls.

Barbed wires have been fixed in some schools but that too from parent-teacher funds.

KPK government says that it is not possible to appoint security guards in thirty five thousand schools.

The opposition has also criticized the provincial government strongly for not fulfilling its commitment.
