Summary Pakistan is forced to respond to continuous violation of ceasefire line by India, says spokesperson
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has on Thursday said that Pakistan will attend Heart of Asia Confernece ‘for peace in Afghanistan’, reported Dunya News.
In the weekly briefing, FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan was forced by India to respond to the aggression due through its continuous violation of the ceasefire line. He said that India was repeatedly invited to talks but Pakistan received no positive reaction.
Zakaria said that the hostile situation in Kashmir had entered its fourth month but the situation was still the same. “Over 150 Kashmiris have been martyred, over 16,000 injured and more than 1000 have been blinded by India during last four months”, he said.
The FO spokesperson said that Indian aggression had started to spill over into Pakistan as well where the Indian forces had martyred 44 Pakistani civilians and injured 135. He strongly condemned the direct Indian attacks on the common citizens, passenger buses and ambulances.
Nafeez Zakaria said that Pakistan always retaliated to Indian firing only to save the civilians from Indian aggression. “Till the month of November this year India has violated the ceasefire over 300 times, out of which 230 violations were recorded during the last three months only”, he apprised.
“Yesterday, Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) sent a clear message to his Indian counterpart warning him that targeting of civilian population was intolerable”, he said. Zakaria added that the voices were being raised regarding the critical situation in the occupied Kashmir even in the British parliament. He told that the British foreign ministry was also taken into confidence over the Indian subversive activities targeting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He added that CPEC was a project aimed at linking various parts of the world in one belt.
Responding to a question about Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder, Nafees Zakaria said that the issue was being looked after by the interior ministry.
He said that Foreign Advisor Sartaj Aziz had announced attending Heart of Asia Conference and the situation was not good even at the time of the announcement. He added that the British foreign ministry was also informed about the option of more countries attending the said conference.
