LAHORE (Dunya News) – Sikh pilgrims on Monday returned to India after attending the 548th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh religion.

They visited their religious sites and expressed satisfaction over the security and care provided to those places.

They were also pleased on the freedom and ease to perform their religious rituals.

“Our Lahore visit went good and we are going back contented,” said one Sikh pilgrim.

“Love should increase between both the countries and the tensions should be eliminated,” said another.

Special security arrangements were made at Lahore railway station to bid farewell to them.

“Security arrangements were adequate and we didn’t face any trouble,” told a pilgrim.

Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Siddique Alfarooq alongwith high officials was also present on the occasion.

“Efficient arrangements for the Sikh pilgrims’ sustenance, transportation, security and medical facilities were made by the government,” chairman ETPB asserted.
