Karachi: Crackdown against pillion riders, 132 detained
At least 132 people were arrested in Karachi on charges of violation of pillion riding ban.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police launched a crackdown against pillion riders in different parts of Karachi on Sunday night and arrested 132 motorcyclists, reported Dunya News.
The ban was imposed on pillion riding by Sindh interior ministry for security purposes on the occasion on Hazrat Imam Hussain’s Chelum and action was taken against those who violated the ban.
On the other hand, police conducted a search operation in Jackson area on an intelligence report that criminal elements were present in the area and apprehended 23 suspects. Police have shifted the arrested suspects to police station for further investigation.
