Summary Saad Rafique has confessed to depreciation of railway system in the country.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – At least 530 train mishaps have been occurred since Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saad Rafique took charge as Federal Minister for Railways but every time low level officers were declared guilty.
Travelling on trains has become life risk due to mutual differences of workers and lack of proper communication.
Sources told that more than 14 accidents among 530 were of severe nature as more than 102 people lost their lives whereas many others sustained severe wounds.
For the past three years, incidents like derailment of trains, crash with motor vehicles, dysfunctional engines and fire in the bogies took place after which train drivers, firemen and guards were pronounced responsible.
People working in railway‘s traffic and commercial departments also expressed reservations while no progress has been observed regarding implementation of Automatic Train Protection System worth Rs 12 billion.
Senior analyst Kamra Khan has urged the Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to launch proper investigation into the incidents.
Talking in Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath, Saad Rafique expressed deep grief on Ladhi trains collision mishap that killed 20 people and said that the department was defamed due to the negligence of two people.
"We are going to take action but I cannot disclose it yet. We have started working to train drivers and assistant drivers", he added.
He said some people have wrong perceptions that they would stage strike if authorities initiate probe against them.
The minister has confessed to depreciation of railway system in the country while he has also claimed that several employees are getting pays while sitting at home.
