ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Police on Tuesday have released Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Andleeb Abbas and Allama Iqbal’s grandson Waleed Iqbal, who were apprehended at Korangi Road, after brief detention.
According to sources, police fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets at Andleeb Abbas and other PTI workers as they tried to cross barricades while marching towards Imran’s residence.
Shameful how police used gas shells + rubber bullets on our Lhr leadership - then arrested Andleeb Abbas, Walid Iqbal, Hammad Azhar & others

Arif Alvi and Imran Ismail were also released from the custody after short arrest on Monday. The orders of their release came after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s directives.
Earlier today, Amnesty International has strongly condemned police crackdown on PTI protesters and called on the Government of Pakistan to release hundreds of activists detained before a planned mass protest, as police used tear gas and rubber bullets overnight to prevent demonstrators from entering Islamabad.
Champa Patel, Amnesty International’s South Asia director, said there was no justification for what she called a "repressive crackdown" by police.
"The authorities should immediately and unconditionally release all the people arrested solely for exercising their rights and allow them to protest peacefully."
