ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan will announce date for Islamabad lock-down over Panama Leaks issue at a press conference in Islamabad today (Monday), Dunya News reported. Earlier, October 30 was announced as the date to shut down the capital.
The PTI chief said that his party will hold historic protest sit-in in Islamabad, in order to press the government to investigate the Panama Leaks issue. He further said that rulers will not be allowed to escape from accountability.
The PTI chief also held meetings with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and a delegation from Batgram on Sunday. Panama Leaks issue and strategy to shut down the capital came under discussion during the meetings.
During the meeting, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that his party will participate in PTI’s anti-government protest in Islamabad over Panama leaks.
Sources said that Imran Khan will also address a public meeting outside Lal Havaily in Rawalpindi, the residence of Sheikh Rashid, on October 28.
PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen also held a meeting with Imran Khan and discussed with him the suggestion to hold anti-government protest in Islamabad on November 2. However, the date for Islamabad shut-down will be finalized during core group meeting of the party today.
On the other hand, Imran Khan in a video message has appealed the party workers to donate at least Rs100 for anti-government protest.
