Sindh Assembly approves bill over reinstatement of 619 govt employees
It was political revenge that led to termination of 619 persons from their services, says CM Murad
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Session of the Sindh Assembly convened on Thursday has approved bill regarding reinstatement of at least 619 employees of the government who were terminated from services during 1997-2006.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister tabled the bill over reinstatement of government employees which was approved by the members according to which, 619 employees will be reinstated with all their previous salaries and facilities.
Opposing the development, Muslim League-Functional’s Nusrat Sahar Abbasi said that the entire province should know the reason behind dismissal of the persons from seats and who would benefit off the bill.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah responded to Abbasi saying that it was a revenge move that was politically instigated that led to termination of 619 persons from their services.
During the session, Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani rejected a privilege motion presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Khurram Sher Zaman over sale of liquor.
Zaman reported that narcotics and liquor were being sold in Clifton area and Shireen Jinnah Colony without any check, replying to which Durrani instructed Excise and Taxation Minister to visit the area alongwith the claimant.
Sindh Arms Amendment Bill and Access to Information Bill 2016 were also presented before the participants of the session today.
However, the bills were forwarded to the committee concerned before Speaker Durrani adjourned the session until Friday 10:00am.
