Anwar Mansoor Khan has been elected as the president of the Sind high court Bar Association whereas Abid Zubairi has been elected as the secretary, Dunya News reported on Saturday. According to the unofficial results of the polls of the bar association, Anwar Mansoor Khan scored 835 votes whereas Abid Zubairi grabbed 691 votes. Abdul Jabbar and Aashiq Chaudhary scored equal votes. Yousaf Iqbal Farid has been elected as the treasurer of the association and Aamir Aziz Khan has been elected as the joint secretary. Hassan Akbar, Muhammad Safdar, Farid Dayo, Arshad Jadon, Khalid Mehmood, Aziz ud Din Qureshi, tariq Khwaja, Mashood Ahmed and Mushfai Muhammad have been elected as the members of the managing committee. The newly elected president Anwar Mansoor Khan, while talking to Dunya News, said that no compromise would be made on the independence of the judiciary and if the government does anything illegal or extra constitutional then the bar association would oppose it.
