The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested six officials including the former Director General Hajj Rao Shakeel and the former Chairman Trading Corporation of Pakistan on charges of corruption, Dunya News reported on Saturday. Action against former DG Hajj was recommended by the National Assemblys Standing Committee on Hajj. FIA said that Rao Shakeel rented out cheap residences for Hajis in Makka and Madina on higher rates and allegedly misappropriated funds worth millions of rupees. On the other hand FIA also arrested five officials of TCP including the former Chairman TCP Abdul Malik on importing below standard wheat worth billions of rupees. In the same case FIA also arrested Director TCP Adil Mokhar from Lahore. The aforementioned officials imported sub-standard wheat worth billions of rupees and caused billions of rupee loss to the national exchequer.
