Business community threatens to stage sit-ins if Rangers' authority not extended

Summary Lyari residents organised protest in favour of Rangers, demanded extension in Rangers' powers

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The city’s business community members threatened to organise sit-ins and protests if Sindh government did not extend the authority granted to Rangers, reported Dunya News.

Members of business community stated that Rangers should be given authority until crime rate in the province gets curbed, further adding that the provincial government should ensure punishments for the criminals arrested by the law enforcement agencies instead of placing hindrance in the functioning of the Rangers.

Members belonging to the business community demanded that the authority granted to Rangers be extended at the earliest by Sindh government in order to ensure the stability of law and order in the province otherwise the traders shall be forced to organise protests against the government.

Locals belonging to Lyari hit the roads of the area while raising slogans in the favour of Rangers. Lyari residents organised a protest at Maripur Road in favour of Rangers. The demonstrators stated that the Rangers played an important role in establishing peace in Lyari thus their powers should be extended.
