Summary Sindh IGP AD Khawaja said that both cases were being investigated from various aspects
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Sial on Friday stated that investigation is being carried out against the murder of qawwali singer Amjad Sabri and the abduction of Owais Shah, reported Dunya News.
Sial attended an important meeting earlier in the day which took place in the Central Police Office to discuss both the issues. The meeting was attended by Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) AD Khawaja and other officials.
While conversing with the media after the meeting, Sial stated that two high-profile cases occurred in Karachi during the ongoing week. He said that the police got to know about the abduction of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s son at around 9pm on the day he was kidnapped. He added that the investigation of Owais Shah’s kidnapping was in its initial phase.
Sial admitted that the police had difficulties accessing to 3G and 4G technology, further stating that geo-fencing technology and access to the data of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was also not available to the police.
AD Khawaja said that both cases were being investigated from various aspects, adding that search operations were being carried out in Jamshoro and Dadu as well. He stated that the abduction of Owais Shah may not be linked with extortion.
