LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Friday criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and remarked sarcastically after he revealed that he formed an offshore company in 1983 on the advice of his accountant. PML-N leaders lambasted Khan saying that he had the oldest offshore company.

PML-N leader and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz expressed her views in a tweet saying that Khan himself owned an offshore company. Commenting sarcastically, she stated that Khan should be awarded fort this.

Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif also directed his sarcasm on Khan saying that the PTI chairman should be ashamed as he had been criticising the government but his own name had now appeared in the list of those owning offshore companies. Referring to Khan as  Mr. Clean , he stated that the PTI chairman had been giving sermons to the government on this which showed his impunity. 

Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Zubair also lambasted Khan saying that the PTI chairman is trying to deceive the nation.

Meanwhile Khan stated that he had purchased and sold a flat in London through the same company. He added that he never remained a citizen of the United Kingdom and therefore had to make the offshore company in order to purchase property.

He further stated that he had to pay taxes if he did not make the company. He stated that making a company in this manner is not an illegal process and said "what I did was not a crime".
