Summary PM has issued directives to set clear policy in this regard.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Spokesperson Interior Ministry stated that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Wednesay has highlighted the issue of death sentences and hangings of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders in Bangladesh before Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, reported Dunya News.
Nisar said that the way JI leaders of Bangladesh have been treated is inhumane and against United Nation s (UN) code of conduct. He said that the leaders who have been hanged or sentenced by Bangladesh government committed crime for showing loyalty to Pakistan 45 years ago.
Nisar expressed utter disappointment and said that global community has observed silence over the matter and that they should raise voice against this inhumane policy.
Endorsing Nisar s stance, PM has issued directives to set clear policy in this regard with consultation of Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister s Secretariat.
Later, Nisar also chaired a joint meeting with relevant departments which was also attended by Minister for Broadcasting and Information Pervaiz Rashid.
