Severe jolts of earthquake were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Haripur, Muzzafarabad and Balakot.According to meteorological department, the earthquake jolts were felt at around 2:46 am. The center of earthquake was 20 Km from Islamabad towards North-West between Khanpur and Haripur Hazara. The intensity of earthquake was measured to be 5.3 on the Richter scale. Most of the people came out of their houses due to fear; however there were no reports of any kind of casualties or building damages. Right after the earthquake, rainfall began in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
