Summary Deadline given by political parties to take nullify Bill by March 27
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A meeting of various political parties of the country was held on Tuesday under the leadership of Ammer Jamat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq at Mansoora, Lahore, reported Dunya News.
The various personalities who attended the meeting include Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, Abu-al-Khair Azad, Professor Sajid Mir, Allama Ameen Shaheedi, Hafiz Saeed and others.
Leaders of the religious parties completely rejected the Women’s Protection Bill that was passed by the Punjab Assembly and labeled it an attempt to promote foreign agenda in the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Siraj-ul-Haq gave a deadline to the Punjab government to nullify the Bill till March 27, further adding that new bills should be made after consultation with the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) and religious leaders.
Siraj stated that if the bill is not taken back by the government, strategy regarding protests shall be made during the Ulema Convention in Islamabad that will take place on April 2.
