D-8 countries' representatives hold conference in Islamabad

Summary The next meeting of Trade Ministers' Council will be held in Malaysia next year.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - D-8 countries on Wednesday have agreed to take their trade volume to 500 billion dollars by 2018.

The understanding to this effect came at a meeting of the Trade Ministers  Council of D-8 group in Islamabad on Wednesday. 

It was also decided during the conference that the preferential trade agreement amongst the member countries will also be implemented from July this year.

The member countries also renewed the commitment to continue the process of engagement for greater cooperation in different sectors.

The next meeting of Trade Ministers  Council will be held in Malaysia next year.

D-8 is a group of Muslim countries comprising Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Turkey and Pakistan.
