Summary Imran says hospitals in KP not being privatised but being reformed, directs case against Amir Muqam

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has on Monday said that Sharif brothers spend on their advertisement while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak spends on the welfare of the people. He said that the hospitals in KP are being reformed, not privatised. He also directed filing a case against Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor Amir Muqam for supporting the protesting doctors, reported Dunya News.

Talking to media at CM House in Peshawar, Imran Khan said that the hospitals in KP are being reformed. He added that an independent Board of Governors has been established in order to improve the quality of services at the government hospitals. He said that the privatisation of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and the reforms in KP hospitals are two entirely different matters. He clarified that the Essential Services Act was imposed upon the orders of Peshawar High Court. He added that 95% of the health workers are with the government over MTI Act but some doctors are holding strikes for their personal interests.

PTI Chairman said that the MTI Act for the reforms in hospitals was also presented in the assembly. He also directed filing an FIR against PM’s Advisor Amir Muqam for meeting the protesting doctors at Hayatabad Medical Complex. On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Amir Muqam said that he was not afraid of Imran Khan and his FIRs.

Imran Khan went on saying that Peshawar wouldn’t progress with roads but through reforms in the public healthcare facilities.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the construction of service roads on both sides of Ring Road in Peshawar, Imran Khan said that this road would help improve the traffic system. He added that devolving power to the lower levels always brought change in the Western world and that is why KP government gave power to the Nazims and Councillors in KP’s local body system.

Speaking on the occasion, Pervez Khattak said that the construction of the service roads would cost Rs. 1.9 billion and would be completed in eight months. He further added that roads were being constructed throughout Peshawar and Kohat Road was also being constructed on the lines of the motorway.
