Summary 1.5 year old Safina Batool was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where her condition is said to be critical
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Four children, 3 brothers and their sister, lost their lives as fire engulfed the room of a home in Hassan Town near Sabzazar area of Lahore. 8 year old Usman, 7 year old Nasreen, 6 year old Arsalan and 3 year old Hanan succumbed to their wounds while being shifted to the hospital.
Another sister, 1 and a half year old Safina Batool has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
The grief-stricken father Tariq Shahbaz only came to know about the tragic accident once he returned home from a factory where he works.
An electrical short circuiting is being said to be the cause of the blaze.
The accident occurred at around 10 pm in the night when the mother and her 5 children were asleep in the room. The short circuiting occurred when electricity came back after a scheduled load shedding.
A fire started in the room which engulfed the room within minutes. A gas cylinder in the room also exploded due to the heat from the raging flames.
Residents of the area managed to extinguish the flames by their own efforts and then rushed the children to Jinnah Hospital. 4 of the children died on way to the hospital.
Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and demanded a report into the matter. He also expressed his condolences with the unfortunate parents.
