ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Asad Umar on Monday stated that time has again come to hold sit-in at D-Chowk over continuous economic deprivation of the citizens.
The leader while lashing out at incumbent government alleged that the federation is teasing the nation by approving nominal reduction in the petroleum prices. He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has failed to ensure relief to the locals.
PTI member said that the government is taking Rs 98 tax on Diesel, Rs 61 on Kerosene and Rs 52 tax on petroleum.
He said a relaxation has been given to the millionaires a week before in the name of tax amnesty while the leaders must be getting appreciation from International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this regard.
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) slashed prices of all petroleum products by Rs5. New price of petrol is Rs71.25 per litre while price of high speed diesel will now be Rs75.79 per litre.
Earlier, spokesman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Naeem-ul-Haque termed Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif s announcement of reducing Rs 5 per liter in petroleum prices a ‘clumsy joke’.
He said that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended to cut the petroleum prices by 21 percent but the officials only reduced Rs 5/liter. OGRA requested to decrease petrol by Rs7.56, high speed diesel and high octane by Rs10.15 and kerosene oil by Rs8.17 from February 1.
