LAHORE (Dunya News) – A winter that may leave blood frozen in your veins. Such were the scenes being witnessed while routine activities grind to a halt in Punjab as temperatures dropped even further Friday. The cold weather not experienced during December is back with a vengeance in January.

The severe wave of cold coupled with the fog and chilly winds made the conditions even more frigid. Citizens, cooped up in their homes to avoid the single digit temperatures, say a week has passed since they saw the sun.

The northern parts of the Province were already experiencing the temperature drop but now the severe winter cold has descended down into the plains as well.

A thick cover of clouds was seen in skies of numerous parts of Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan.

Citizens have now started wearing thick jackets, woolen caps and gloves to block out the cold.

Gas load shedding was also seen in various areas where people were forced to make fire to stay warm during the extreme temperatures.

Weather forecasters are saying the weather situation will continue in the coming 4-5 days as well.
