Summary Data of more than 1,50270 motorcycles has been gathered up until now.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Be it a case of target killing or a petty street crime, it seems that the two wheeled motorcycle has been nominated as the vehicle of choice for terrorists and criminals for its convenience in navigating through narrow streets and traffic. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Police has had enough of it and has started to take action.
In order to stop the use of motorcycles in such heinous crimes, KP Police has started a campaign for creating a database of all motorcycles present in the province and a collection of data of their owners.
Data of more than 1,50270 motorcycles has been gathered up until now.
According to police records, more than 38000 motorbike owners have been advised to fix license plates on their vehicles.
Inspector-General (IG) Nasir Durrani has stated that the Excise Department has also been advised in this regard to speed up and smoothen the process of registration so that citizens face few problems in this.
Police say they have confiscated more than 5000 unlicensed motorcycles. Police have also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with them in this regard, so that the possibility of any terrorist activity can be easily curtailed.
