LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least five members of a family on early Thursday were killed as a house caught fire in Lohari Gate area.
Firefighters and rescue teams arrived at the site with a delay. The teams faced difficulties in carrying out rescue operation due to narrow streets in the area. The flames were extinguished after a long battle with blaze.
The process of cooling also took a couple of hours.
Four people have been rescued up until now including a one year old child and a woman. A husband and wife and two children remain yet to be found.
The fire was so severe that it engulfed the entire house very quickly. At least six fire brigade vehicles were deployed in bringing the fire under control. The teams extinguished the fire after a struggle of around five hours.
