Summary Raja Riaz said nobody wants PPP's ticket to contest elections
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday slammed party’s Punjab leadership for doing poorly in the local body elections, Dunya News reported.
In a session of party leaders, Bilawal said Punjab got two Prime Ministers, 24 federal ministers during PPP’s rule. He said everybody is now complaining that the leadership should come out, adding that he asks what did the party leaders do.
Reportedly, PPP leader Firdous Ashiq Awan said in the meeting that PPP is failing in Punjab and that something must be done. Raja Riaz said nobody wants PPP’s ticket to contest elections.
These complaints from the leaders angered Bilawal who then asked what the leaders did about it.
Bringing the leaders to accountability over poor results in local body polls, Bilawal asked what results did PPP leaders give in their respective districts in the local body polls.
Bilawal reacted also when Nadeem Afzal Chan protested against an article by party leader Basheer Riaz by saying bringing the party matters in the media will not be tolerated.
PPP chairman said leg pulling within the party must be stopped. He said he will get out and stand with the people.
In the meeting, PPP leaders said that the process of ‘revenge’ in the name of accountability is ongoing in Sindh. Bilawal’s full entry in South Punjab will begin from Raheem Yar Khan.
