Breaking stereotypes: Women on Wheels rally in Lahore

Summary 150 women completed training with the collaboration of special monitoring unit and traffic police.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - At least 150 women motorcyclists participated in the Women on Wheels (WoW) rally in Lahore after completing their training with the collaboration of Special Monitoring Unit and Traffic Police.

The rally was attended by Austrian Ambassador Brigitta Balaha and human rights activist Asma Jahangir.



"Women’s empowerment is at the heart of socio-economic progress of the country. WoW project is yet another illustration of their resolve to break stereotypes.", said the CM while congratulating women who successfully got training as part of WoW project.

He said the "Women on Wheels" project is a step towards fulfilling the Quaid’s dream of empowerment of our women aimed at enabling them to play greater and more confident role in the society.



WoW is a unique project of Government of the Punjab, which empowers our young girls, he said. 

The Chief Minister also appreciated SMU - a wing of Chief Minister’s Office - for successfully executing this project.
