Thar: Another kid dies of hunger, toll reaches 16
One more kid died of disease caused by malnutrition, 16 kids have died so far during the last 7 days
MITTHI: (Dunya News) – One more kid has died in Thar due to a disease caused by lack of food as the toll reaches 16 during the last 7 days. The kid died in Civil Hospital Mitthi. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah has called an emergency meeting over Thar situation, reported Dunya News.
Malnutrition has again started killing children in Thar. Civil Hospital Mitthi’s budget is over, staff is missing, drugs have gone extinct and there are literally no facilities. Kids suffering from various diseases are dying one-by-one and there’s no one to listen to the mothers they are leaving behind.
Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the situation and formed a 2-member committee comprising Moula Bakhsh Chandio and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah to look after the matter. Both the ministers will be arriving in Mitthi today.
During the last famine, Sindh government had announced forming Tharparkar Development Authority but the document never got approved.
