Summary Attention is being given to rehabilitation of the temporarily displaced persons, says Dar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday has informed the Prime Minister (PM) in a briefing that the purpose of the ordinance is to make Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) autonomous like Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL).
The Finance Minister held a meeting with Nawaz Sharif in the federal capital today.
Dar briefed the Prime Minister over ordinance regarding privatization of the national airlines. He said that downsizing would not be done in PIA and the employees would be secure. He said that the development has come in bid to release PIA from bureaucracy’s grip.
The federal minister also said that special attention is being given to rehabilitation of the temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) who had to move owing to the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Dar said that the country would earn at least Rs 40 crore from the newly imposed revised regulatory duty on imported luxury items. At least Rs 27 crore out of the total would be provided to the provinces, he added.
