Summary The summary order for extension sits on the CM Sindh's table waiting for a signature.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The government of Sindh as of Tuesday has failed to decide on the issue of Rangers. The law enforcement agency had been granted special powers to conduct raids and arrests in light of the operation in Karachi according to the National Action Plan (NAP). But the government of Sindh did not extend the provision of powers and the summary order for extension sits on the table of Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah waiting for a signature as of yet.

CM Sindh had assured that the document will be signed during a visit of military and political leadership in the city, however a consensus could not be reached on the matter even though the issue at hand was part of the agenda during a high level meeting of Ministers.

Earlier this week, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and CM Sindh bickered over the scope of Karachi operation. CM Sindh had quarreled over the jurisdiction and scope of Rangers’ raids and Karachi operation while Nisar complained that the Sindh government had pledged to extend the Rangers’ authority but still delays it every time.
