Pervaiz Rashid terms LB poll results 'The End' of Imran's innings

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has on Sunday termed the results of local body elections as ‘The End’ of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s innings. He said that the opening batsmen of Imran Khan and his ally Sheikh Rasheed, Awami Muslim League (AML) leader, were clean bowled in the election. He said that Rawalpindi has rejected Imran’s politics, reported Dunya News.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan’s innings has come to an end. He even demanded a ‘rematch’ in NA-56 where Imran Khan had emerged victorious during the 2013 General Election.
Rashid said that the killers of Raja Basharat’s nephew will be arrested, no matter which political party they belonged to.
Dropping the question about the Imran Farooq murder case that was registered yesterday, Rashid said that the question will only be answered by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

In her message on Twitter, Maryam Nawaz said that every time there will be an election, people will vote for ‘Sher’ (tiger), PML-N’s electoral sign. She said that the people of Punjab have spoken, the electorate has spoken, PML-N has emerged victorious yet again.

PTI had won 2 seats out of the 7 National Assembly seats in Rawalpindi during the 2013 General Election and its ally Awami Muslim League’s (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed had also won his seat in NA-55. The 2 seats were considered to be PML-N’s stronghold in the past but they were snatched from the party in the General Elections and the party has been resenting that defeat ever since.
However, the victory in the local body elections has done some consolation for the defeat in 2013 as PML-N has reportedly secured a landslide victory in the district.
Maryam Nawaz thus thanked the people of Rawalpindi and welcomed the city back into PML-N’s fold.
