Summary Accountability process in the judicial structure would be free and fair, says Justice Saqib Nisar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Wednesday said that messiahs do not descend from the skies instead unity solves country’s problems.

Lahore High Court (LHC) bar hosted a dinner gathering in honour of the CJP and the senior most judge, Justice Saqib Nisar.

While addressing the gathering, Justice Jamali said that the countries who got independence after 1947 have surpassed Pakistan in progress. Lawlessness is such in the present times that a local deems it insulting to stop at a traffic signal, he added.

Following Justice Jamali, Justice Nisar delivered a speech and said that those who have not committed wrongdoings need not to worry. Accountability process in the judicial structure would be free and fair, he added.

Justice Nisar said that the CJP asked him once, did he think that no judge ever committed a mistake since1970? “We hold people accountable everyday, does judicial system also has accountability process?” Justice Nisar quoted Jamali.

Pakistan Bar Council’s Vice-Chairman Azam Nazeer Tarar, Supreme Court (AC) Bar President Ali Zafar and LHC Bar President Pir Masood Chishti were among the addressers of the evening.

The speakers lauded Chief Justice Jamali’s efforts for different causes.
