Summary Ayaz Sadiq has invited all the political parties for the implementation of CPEC.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday has said that Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf’s (PTI) claims of re-election in NA-122 are beyond his comprehension.
While addressing the media during his visit to Mian Mir Hospital in Lahore, Speaker said that he doesn’t understand why PTI is continuously asking for re-elections in NA-122. He prayed that may Allah stop PTI chief Imran Khan from leveling allegations against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Ayaz Sadiq said that a committee of vigorous politicians has been established to monitor China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He added that the opposition is constantly denouncing CPEC which can affect its implementation. NA Speaker further invited all the political parties to show consent over the project.
Talking about menace of terrorism, he said that it is not an issue of one region but has prevailed all across the globe which needs to get addressed early at both national and international levels.
He assured that all the departments are working honestly and sincerely in their own fields.
Meanwhile, Spokesman of PTI Naeem-ul-Haq hoped that Ayaz Sadiq will perform duties according to his designation. He accused the PML-N leader of closing the microphones of opposition leaders so that they cannot share their views.
He further said that the Speaker has always shown loyalty with PML-N and neglected the stance of other MNAs.
Earlier, PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq took oath as Speaker of the National Assembly for the second time.
Ayaz Sadiq and Shafqat Mahmood of PTI were the two contenders for the seat of Speaker National Assembly. The assembly had initially received three nominations, but MNA Ghazi Ghulab Jamal withdrew his candidature.
Sadiq secured 268 votes while Shafqat Mehmood received 31 votes only.
Ayaz Sadiq, who was elected MNA after 2013 election, was de-seated by an election tribunal in August this year over massive irregularities in the election process in NA-122 constituency of Lahore. The decision was taken on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s petition challenging Sadiq’s victory.
Sadiq recently retained his NA seat after defeating PTI’s Aleem Khan in NA-122 by-polls.
