Summary Pakistan would continue to raise voice for human rights, says spokesperson
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah on Thursday said that Pakistan has demanded foreign powers to take notice of Indian extremist party Shiv Sena’s terror acts.
The spokesperson criticised Indian authorities in a press conference in the federal capital today.
He said that India cannot keep Kashmiris from their right to self-determination and freedom. He said that Pakistan strongly condemns arrests made in Kashmir to foil Hurriyat-called ‘million march’.
Neighbouring authorities have detained hundreds of Kashmiris ahead of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s visit to address a rally and inaugurate a power plant.
The FO spokesperson further said that several countries voted against their prior stance in membership matter of Human Rights Council. He said that Pakistan would continue to raise voice for human rights. The FO representative also said that Pakistan wants to see peaceful resolution of China’s controversial maritime issue with India.
Earlier in October, Pakistan had handed over three dossiers to United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The dossiers contained evidences of Indian involvement in acts of terror in Pakistan. The FO had stated then that India wants to destabilize Pakistan and could resort to any tactic for it.
Evidences of Indian funding and support to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were also provided to the UN Secretary General.
Qazi had also condemned maltreatment of Pakistani singers and artists in India. Cancellation of Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai and threats to Mahira and Fawad Khan by Shiv Sena were cited by the spokesperson in his briefing.
While answering a question, the spokesperson said that there are no evidences of banned outfit Islamic State’s (IS) footprints in Pakistan.
PM Nawaz Sharif had formally invited All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Syed Ali Geelani to Pakistan. The FO spokesperson also confirmed the invitation by Pakistani side in one of his October briefings.
