Summary Saira Afzal quoted Musharraf during a session of senate to which Rabbani became furious
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, on Wednesday asked the senate members to avoid quoting dictators during the democratic discussions. He was chairing a session of senate in Islamabad where the federal minister Saira Afzal Tarar gave an example of former dictator Pervez Musharraf, reported Dunya News.
Federal Minister for National Health and Regulation, Saira Afzal Tarar said that she does not deny the fact that Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) did not perform well. She said this during the question/answer session. She said that DRA does not have a department of quality insurance but she said that hopefully DRA will perform better in next six months.
When Saira Afzal quoted Pervaz Musharraf, the chairman senate could not control his anger and said that he will not allow anyone to utter the name of a dictator in the Upper House.
