Summary Plane carrying more than 150 passenger was badly damaged after it made emergency landing in Lahore.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Investigation committee will inspect the passenger plane that made an emergency landing at Lahore airport on Tuesday after its landing gear apparently malfunctioned, Dunya News reported.

The committee will ascertain reason behind the incident.

At least 10 passengers were injured in the incident that caused damage to the aircraft as the plane veered off the runway, perhaps caused by a tyre burst.

Shaheen Airlines Flight NL-142, flying from Karachi to Lahore, made the landing at 9.27am at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

Reports say the tyre of the aircraft burst due to a fault in the landing gear, after which the aircraft skidded off the runway. The runway was temporarily shut down with expected flight delays.

A total of 167 passengers were on board the aircraft. The injured were provided with immediate medical treatment, however, none was reported to be critical.

Pakistan’s airline industry has been tarnished by a string of tragic accidents in recent years.

The last major plane crash in the country occurred in April 2012 when a Boeing 737-200 aircraft operated by domestic carrier Bhoja Airline crashed in bad weather during its approach to Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad, killing all 127 people aboard.

Another worst air disaster occurred in July 2010 when an Airblue aircraft crashed into Margalla Hills near Islamabad, killing all 152 people aboard. A government investigation blamed the pilot for veering off course amid stormy weather.
