DASU (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday and Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak berated Dasu’s administration over inefficient quake relief services during a visit to the earthquake affected areas. According to a warning by the Meteorological Department, the quake-affected areas are likely to experience severe cold and dry weather in the next 4 days.

According to the details, PM Nawaz and CM KP were greatly irked during a briefing in Dasu, Gilgit by the slow paced relief activities of the administration. The officials made an attempt to make the problem of inaccesibility to quake hit areas as an excuse, to which PM Nawaz rapidly shot back with a solution of using helicopters. The absence of District Coordination Officer (DCO) during the earthquake was also addressed sharply by PM Nawaz. The bureaucrat officials tried to dodge the PM’s questions but were unable to as PM Nawaz became further enraged.

CM Khattak also looked in a no nonsense mood and reprimanded the officials for the slow pace. PM Nawaz also addressed the victims of the quake during his visit.
The already ravaged victims of earthquake will be on the mercy of harsh weather ahead of a 8.1 magnitude earthquake that has extolled 225 lives. The victims, who include helpless men, women children and elderly person, are already without proper shelter, lack of winter clothing and food supplies with the harsh weather on the horizon.
