Flood affectees, residing at a relief camp set up at Layyah Islamia Girls High School, hold a protest demonstration against substandard food items emitting foul smell being given to them on Tuesday. The protesters burnt woods and utensils and blocked the Layyah-Kot Addu Road. They were carrying days-old bread in their hands and chanted slogans against the administration, saying that the latter is embezzling the aid meant for them. They said that spurious medicines are being given to them. They alleged Patwaris deployed at the camp of their plight. Meanwhile, traffic has been restored as the authorities established two temporary bridges at Muzaffargarh-Dera Ghazi Khan Road; the breaches on roads have also been plugged.
