LAHORE: (Web Desk, Dunya News) – Renowned TV anchor Dr. Moeed Pirzada has on Friday kicked off his new show on Dunya News titled ‘Tonight with Moeed Pirzada’. In his first show, Dr. Pirzada said that this new program will attempt to bring research-based content to the people of Pakistan.
Introducing his program to the viewers, Moeed Pirzada said that the viewers today want to know about the things happening across the borders yet influencing the politics of Pakistan. He said that ‘Tonight with Moeed Pirzada’ will aim at research instead of ratings. “This program will not only be new, it will also be different”, said Pirzada in his intro.
Earlier, Moeed Pirzada also shared the idea of his program with his Facebook followers on his page. In his post, Pirzada said that the " One plus Three Guest based Shows belong to a bygone era, have outlived their utility”. He said that such programs do not display a clear picture. “Today s program is only a bold initiative to produce a program that relies upon facts, research and investigations of all sorts”, said Moeed.
Commenting on this post, Moeed Pirzada’s followers opined that the media keeps highlighting the problems but attempts at getting the solutions of these problems from the politicians. “This is the job of experts, specialists, professionals and academics to suggest solutions”, said Mujahid Hussain, one of the followers.
Explaining the idea of the program further on his show, Pirzada said that there is a large number of viewers in Pakistan that believes that serious programs generally don’t get ‘ratings’. “However, it is quite clear from the recent events that unfolded in Pakistan how ratings are decided”, said Pirzada. He said that many in Pakistan watch the TV talk shows only for the sake of enjoyment and their own catharsis. “This means that we are taking a bold initiative today. But this program can be successful. It will be successful with viewers’ suggestions and input”, said Pirzada. He urged the viewers to inform his team about the issues unfolding around them.
