Summary No solution to the dispute is possible without inclusion of Kashmiri leaders, says Maleeha Lodhi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi on Thursday said that Pakistan has always been ready for talks over Indian held Kashmir however, no solution is possible without inclusion of Kashmiri leaders in the process.
Pakistan has once again raised the longstanding dispute with India over Kashmir in front of the international powers.
Lodhi, while addressing UN General Assembly (GA) said that Pakistan never stepped down or turned down talks with India. However, she said India at times cancels the scheduled negotiations or runs away without extending any cooperation or solution to the dispute.
Lodhi once again has forwarded to the world Pakistan’s willingness to come on table for talks. She has cleared that no solution to the dispute is possible without inclusion of Kashmiri leaders in the process. She has termed All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s (APHC) participation a necessity for fruitful talks.
Besides, urging apparently secular India Lodhi has requested UN members to have the organisation’s resolutions implemented.
In her address, she mentioned Pakistan’s recent effort to solve the issue by proposing a four-point agenda. It should be mentioned here earlier in September Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Indian counterpart were in New York to attend UN’s GA session. Sharif had extended an agenda which would have solved the issue. However, pigheaded India once again not only discarded it but humiliated the positive effort through harsh statements.

Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj had resorted to blame game and leveled allegations against Pakistan. In her address to the GA then, she pitched India as a victim of terrorism while completed ruled out Indian interference in Pakistan’s Karachi, Balochistan and federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Pakistan has cited numerous times that it possess evidences of Indian secret service’s activities in different cities.
Lodhi further said that Pakistan is making efforts to restore peace in Afghanistan and would continue to utilize resources for the matter.
On the other hand, she held Israel’s inflexible attitude responsible for unrest in Palestine. She said that Israel’s dictative behaviour in the matter couldn’t help but disrupt the peace.
In September, Lodhi had handed over at least three dossiers containing proofs of Indian involvement in terror acts sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Pakistan did not delay in unmasking India on international platform as it had rejected PM’s peace initiative with traditional inflexibility.
The three dossiers separately included proofs collected from Karachi, FATA and southwestern region of Balochistan.
The reason cited by the Pakistani envoy for handing over the evidences was increasing tensions in the region.
